As the Pink Chanel Suit episode opens we arrive at a funeral of the mother of Federal estimate Pauline Fitz-William (Cristine Rose). Pauline requests that her daughter Sophie locate her sister Abbey as she has not in addition appeared at the funeral. When Sophie goes to Abbey’s room she finds Abbey’s boyfriend murdered on the floor. Abbey’s boyfriend appeared to have been stabbed in the back.
Agent Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and agent Cho (Tim Kang) arrive on the scene with Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) nowhere to be found. The team begins searching the room for clues and quickly learns that Abbey has in addition to be found. Due to the high ranking character of the estimate and her estate the character remains under heavy security scrutiny by the security team. According to the head of security nobody saw Abbey leave the character after she check in the past morning. Abbey being a chief murder speculate sends the team into a bit of confusion about her whereabouts.
Patrick Jane shows up more than fashionably late as usual, making a scene with the security guard as he questions why he needs to go by the metal detector. Frustrated that his rank didn’t get him by without a security check, Jane insists that the head of security go by the metal detector in addition. When he does Jane puts coins in his pocket so he sets off the alarm. This scene alone is worth watching the show for.
The crowd is shocked when Patrick Jane announces that Abbey has most likely been murdered and is hidden somewhere on the estate. He proves this after he tries to steal the rug from Pauline’s office (because it resembled the size of an adult body) to see if he could get by security. The security team quickly spots Jane trying to improving the weakest point in their security proving that Abbey could not have left the grounds.
Jane pulls a typical diversion tactic telling everyone that he believes that Abbey was hidden in the coffin with the estimate’s mother. Jane of course makes his speech during the funeral ceremony as only the egotistical Jane can. The family being quite upset by the thought of opening the casket agrees to humor Jane believing he is correct. Jane is proven wrong as the casket is opened by Dr. Saban to show only the body of the estimate’s mother.
This of course was just Jane’s ruse to determine the responses of the suspects to find the guilty party. Jane and Lisbon end up hiding by the casket overnight to ultimately catch the killer. Dr. Saban, who had been helping Abbey with her drug addiction, accidentally gave Abbey and overdose and killed her. Dr. Saban panicked when he killed Abbey and ended up killing her boyfriend in addition when he walked in on the failed procedure. The doctor was able to hide Abbey’s body but need to get rid of it soon so it wouldn’t be found during the investigation. It was Jane’s radiance that gave Dr. Saban the idea to hid Abbey in the casket.
