Revs resign DeJuan Jones.

New England dramatical change sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena demonstrated his commitment to the back end by signing defender DeJuan Jones to a three-year contract extension with an additional one-year option.

Jones, 24, finished fifth in the 2021 MLS Defender of the Year voting after compiling career highs for appearances (31), goals (3) and assists (5). Jones started 29 games.

Jones was more than a complimentary piece on the back end alongside center backs Andrew Farrell and Henry Kessler and Brandon Bye on the opposite flank. Jones’ five helpers were one shy of the dramatical change’s single-season record for a defender.

“DeJuan has shown tremendous improvement over his three years in New England and is developing into one of the best outside backs in Major League Soccer,” said Arena. “His performance this season was instrumental in helping us win the Supporters’ protect.”
